Developing and conducting experiments on the reproductive and maintenance behavior of
domestic fowl. Collection and analysis of behavioral data, image analysis of morphology,
development of fecal testosterone and corticosterone RIA, and histological analysis of the
perivitelline layer of ovum. Helping with concurrent projects on the behavior of both
domestic fowl and of ostriches at the University of Maryland poultry farm facility.

May 1996 to Aug. 1998
Examined the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on GnRH and on reproductive
behavior in Japanese quail. Involved egg manipulation, quail husbandry, necropsy, and GnRH
extraction for ELISA. Additional experience includes RIA, cryostat tissue sectioning, and
immunocytochemistry.

daily records of the nesting pairs and chicks; nest sites were mapped manually and by GPS.
