• My research project was designed to explore the potential effects of artificial cover on the behavior and use of space in broiler chickens.
• The objectives of this project were to determine the influence artificial cover has on (1) the usage of pen space, (2) the amount of time spent resting, (3) the occurence of disturbances and (4) the occurrence of aggressive interactions.

Cover Panel Design

• Panels were constructed from PVC piping
• Stood 2 feet tall and 2 feet wide
• Stood in vertical fashion perpendicular to the floor
