Research Work

Label-Correcting Algorithms for Single Source Shortest Path Problems
Master’s Project August 2004 – December 2005

  • Studied diverse label-correcting algorithms for single source shortest path problems
  • Coded most relevant algorithms in Matlab and gained insights in the behavior of those algorithms based on various measures of computational effort
  • Identified possible improvements to the label-correcting algorithm based on empirical observations

Minimax Multiresponse Robust Design
Quality Engineering January 2004 – August 2004

  • Studied the foundation of quality engineering and the principles of Robust Design

  • Proposed an alternative multicriteria optimization approach to the Multiresponse Robust Design problem

Practicability of a Power Generator Industrial Engineering
March 2002 – October 2002

  • Described the properties and behavior of the electrical power market in general

  • Studied the local regulations of the energy market in Bolivia

  • Developed a mathematical model to predict the profit of the various power generators regarding costs and demands
