We have a 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager. We are having trouble with the paint
peeling on the roof. This was a surprise since the van is usually parked
under the house, our house is on pilings. Since this was just discovered we
have not talked to anyone about it. We did not realize this was such a big
problem with Chrysler vehicles till we read other stories posted on the
Internet. Also we are having problems with the air conditioning system. We
took it in to see what the problem was and we were told it would cost $770
to fix it. The problem was a leak in the valve. The parts needed to correct
this problem would be the a/c evaporator coils, valve, dryer, gaskets,
freon and labor. As this van is still "new" we think this is a problem that
should not have occured yet. Are others having problems with their ac's?
Also we have a rattle-clunking sound when hitting bumps or when
accelerating and then easing on the gas peddle. When this problem was
addressed way back in January '98, a seal was replaced on the exhaust but
that didn't last very long and is once again doing the rattle-clunking
noise. I hadn't read this problem anywhere, but we have a leak in some of
the windows although the seals seem to be intact with no cracks or any
other visible problems. Another problem, this one is new, is a crunching
sound on the drivers front side tire. This sound happens only when the
wheel is turned to the right. When this was examined at the service center
we were told it was probably just mud in the bushings. They cleaned it out
but it is still doing the noise.
When we bought our vehicle we were told it would have to come from out of
state since that particular model wasn't available in Louisiana. I kept the
paper that listed the vehicle information price and what was availableon
the vehicle. I was recently looking over it and on the bottom found a "Ship
To and a Sold To" address of a company. The problem I have is that the
address is a company right here in Louisiana. Around this time there was
flooding in New Orleans and surrounding areas. We specifically told the man
who sold us the van we didn't want to order a vehicle from the area
mentioned because so many new vehicles were involved in the flood. Now I'm
wondering if our particular vehicle was in that flood and was simply
shipped out of state, if at all. I called that dealership to try to find if
our van had ever been on their lot and was rudely told he didn't know, to
contact the dealer who sold us our vehicle. What I would like to know if
anyone can help, is how do I find where the van was originally and every
where it had gone until it was actually delivered to us.? Please email me back.
