On May 24 1995 I had the Rear Air Conditioning Hoses replaced because of
a leak which made the Air Conditioning in operable. This spring I
noticed that the A/C although cooling was not doing it efficiently. In
Ontario the weather did not get warm enough to warrant using the A/C
until early June. I contacted the dealer and just yesterday took it in
for my appointment. Guess What? the rear air hoses are leaking. And
the job is 2 weeks out of warranty.
This system is a very poor design. The hoses are exposed underneath the
car. The rear evaporator where they connect is subject to vibration.
Chrysler said that they would pay for the parts but not the labour to
repair the problem. But no one will acknowledge that this is a design
problem. To expect that such a repair will only last 1 season is absurd
to say the least. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a method for
approaching either Chrysler or the dealer to get them to stand behind
this product and the repairs to it?
Andy A.
