YES! This has been a problem for over 4 years and *still*, it seems
that CC is in the perpetual state of denial again. Thank you for updating us
on the ABS saga. I have been "off-line" for a time and I wondered what
owner might now be experiencing as they attempt to resolve the matter
with CC.

: So - there are problems with the ABS system. If you notice the pump

: others don't have the trouble I had.

-	Bruce, there are over 3,000 owners who have complained *formally*
and in writing to the NHTSA about this problem. I venture to say many more
are having the problem but no documenting it. I must direct you to a few
sources for further information. One source is a web page maintained by
Brian Gluckman: "http://www.glue.umd.edu/~kaustin/Chrysler.html"
Another is "http://www.sis.org/docs/chrysler.html"
In addition, you can contact Brian Hufford is New York who is
handling a class action lawsuit re: this ABS problem. His e-mail is
"DBH1959@aol.com" and his phone number is (212) 661-1100.
You might also call the Center for Auto Safety at (202) 328-7700.
And, the NHTSA Auto Safety Hotline is (800) 424-9393....you should *definitely*
inform the NHTSA of CC's alleged NONCOMPLIANCE as this is important re: the
recall follow through. For those in CA, call "CARS" in Sacramento at
(916) 759-9440.
The issue of ABS problems began here back in April of '95 and was
scoffed by many as unfounded information. However, over time, it has been
verified many times over. It is a *major* problem for CC and one which they
have effectively ignored for several years *intentionally*. CC would do well
to learn from its mistakes and with the more recent recalls on CC models,
perhaps they have made some strides in this respect. This does *not*
exonerate the corporation for the blatant mismanagement in the ABS fiasco,
however. Amends have not yet been made according to some owners. While
I am quite certain that CC would like nothing better than to sweep this
matter under the rug with the announcement of the recent recall, the owners
feel much differently.
The ABS problem has *caused* accidents/injuries and repairs have
often been inadequate as problem resurface. The situation is apparently
still being minimized by CC if the standard "there is nothing wroing
with your van" line is being given. This is a problem that often recurs
without warning. More often than not, fault codes are not stored. CC
KNOWS this. Do not let them pull the wool over your eyes!
Again, thank you for sharing the information. Some might have said
that the ABS matter would die out if I left this newsgroup. Obviously, you
have proven them wrong! I am not alone....I have never been alone. As
a matter of fact, I am in quite good company on this one!
Anyone else have a story to relate re: the resolution of an ABS
problem at CC? If so, please document here for all to benefit. Thanks.-
Charlene Blake
