There are two major places where I have filed music.
  1. The music directory has the disc which I released on MP3.com a while ago. There are some live pieces and some things from my old music-tapes. I haven't recovered my comments yet (as of June 15th, 2003), but they might be there if it's a lot later.
  2. Inside music2 you can find a lot of my more recent things. I recommend highly the recording I made for my online sweetheart on Valentine's Day (Feburary 14, 2003) starting on the theme from Gauntlet 2. (That part of the directorysystem isn't stable yet, so I can't link quite yet. When I have it ready, this note will go away and a direct-link will appear.)
The music is all (c) by me (the earliest one was written in 1993, so you can assume that is the copyright date unless otherwise noted by file-creation/modification dates or something clever like that). If you want to use my music, please let me know. If it's just for personal use/share with your friends that you know by name without-charging-them-money then it's OK with me if you make copies, so long as you let them know how they are allowed to share the music around. I.E. It would be fine with me if you put these on your Gnutella server or whatever, but you have to go into each file and check to make sure there's a TAG on it with my name (Merle Zimmermann) and URL (right now http://wam.umd.edu/~merle/, but it might be different later). But if that's too much trouble/you don't understand it, you don't have to worry about it :). Just don't pretend this is your writing, or put it in computer games without letting me know in advance. Thanks. (PS. If you write me an email, and try REALLY hard to get through to me, but don't get a reply after a few months, and your game is going to be freeware, then it's OK if you use my song as long as you put a credit in for me in the game file). (PPS. If you are SQUARE/ENIX, then it's OK for you to put my songs in your game if you put me in the CREDITs! :D)
