Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Hikari from Osaka and Fukuoka arrived in Tokyo station. A young girl called Suzuhara Misaki from Wakayama stepped out of the train. "I arrived in Tokyo", thought Misaki. When she is looking for her connection train, she saw a fight between two people (or dolls to be exact). One of the dolls is dressed in white amour - gorgeous looking, beautiful. Just like a strong magnet, Misaki is attracted to the white armored dolls... Out of nowhere, a man dressed in white robes appears before Misaki. In Kansai accent, the man said,"Those are not humans. They are Angels."
Today is Misaki's first day of class in her new school - Eriol Academy. She is bring her new Angel - Hikaru - to school. Misaki being new in town, do not her way to her new school. A girl looks no more than 5 or 6 years old passed by, and saw Hikaru sticking out from school bag of the confused Misaki. "Is that an Angel? Can I take a look at it", the girl asks...
With the help of Icchan, Misaki's angel is finally complete, and Misaki and Hikaru had her first official fight in Angelic Layer. Misaki is still learning how to maneuver simple movements for her angel, may be she is in need some lessons about Angelic Layer?
At a different location, Icchan and Ogata is discussing about issuing new Angel Cards - a necessary item for all Angelic Layer players to join the Angelic Layer Tournament. Icchan insists that Ogata need to get the newest supply of the Angel Cards out today. For who the Angel Card is rushing for?
Today is the first day of the Angelic Layer Tokyo area tournament. 12 years old Angelic Layer rookie Misaki joined by Hotaru and Tamoyo is "ready" for to sign up for her first open tournament match. Inside the video room, Ogata do not understand why his boss (Icchan) is only interested in Hikaru? "Who is this Misaki? There are lot more powerful Angels and Deus out there?" "Guess," his boss answered...

Flashback... The snow is falling. A young girl (Hatoko) is waiting outside Piffle Princess. Today is holiday, and the Piffle Princess is closed. A shopkeeper inside saw the young girl outside. Why is a girl will brave the snow, and wait outside of the shop, the shopkeeper thought. "Today is holiday. Why are you here?", the curious and also caring shopkeeper asked. "If I do not practice (Angelic Layer) everyday, it will take me 3 days to get back in sync. Please let me practice..."
Eight straight open tournment wins for a rookie just started Angelic Layer. Misaki is starting to earn a name within the fans of the game. Is it time for Misaki to meet up some real challenge? No real champion has never suffered a defeat before, right? How about a challenge from last year Tokyo area regional champion Koyabashi Hatoko and her Angel (Suzuka)?
Misaki's rookie straight win campaign was stopped by Hatoko. Thanks to Icchan, Hikaru was fixed before the last match in the regional tournament. Hikaru needs a win in her last match to qualify with the Kantou tournament. Her opponent is Shibati Mari and her Angel Tsubaki - a lonely girl who is also a shining rookie in the Tokyo regional tournament. Who will prevail?
With a win against Shibati Mari, Misaki qualifed to the Kantou Tournament. This made her fairly popular in her school, and that offended a fellow Angelic Layer player Misaki Ryou. It is tough people cheering for a person with the same name, and Misaki Ryou has some guys ego.
