15) Parody and "Konami Ads" in Tokimeki Memorial 3

1) Meeting Izumi Hotaru

The key to Hotaru is the Internet.  In the "Hobbies" section, you got to search through the internet (the Web Surfing command is the LAST choice inside the Hobbies command).  One of the sites that one may find is a website that plays piano music (it has 2 Kanji near the top with the 2 Kanji sandwiching the Hiragana character "no" (の) .

You can send email to the maintainer of that piano music website (who call herself "The Night Moon Observer") (月晩見).  Visit her website every change of season (Dec-Feb Winter, Mar-May Spring, Jun-Aug Summer, Sep-Nov Fall).  After a few exchanges of email (details on how to answer her emails are not available here at this moment, but it can be found in the following Japanese site), you will be able to meet Hotaru either at the Music Room, Tennis Club or Student Union (if you are a member)  in your school.  The most likely time that you will first meet her is September-October in the first school year.

2) Meeting Shinjo Serika

Basically, it is to sleep a lot.  She will begin to appear (randomly) once you have used the "sleep/rest" command enough times.

There is also a chance she will be one of two characters that when you know initially start a new game; you will always know Makihara Yukiko + another (non-secret) girl (who you will meet on your way on the first day of class) initially.  There is an exception that one of the girls you will meet on the way to the first day of class be Makihara; in that case, Makihara will be the only girl you know at the beginning of a new game.

3) Meeting Watarai Kazumi

You first need to find her home... To find her home, you will need some luck.  Basically, have a walk around the hill area (one of the commands under the "Hobbies" command.  There is only 2 places you can have a walk (the hill area and town center area), and both have a compass icon next to it.  The command for "Have a Walk in the Hill area" is the top one among the 2 choices.  By chance, her home will show up; her home has a sign outside that show her family name.  Her family name is (in GIF) is:

I do not have a screen shot of her home yet (because I do not have the means to get one...), but the sign appears on the left hand side of the main gate.  I only know there is only 3 possible homes you can find there; Watarai, Tachibana, and Oda have their home in that area.  Tachibana's home has an entrance similar to entrance of a Japanese restaurant (with cloths dropping down the main door), and some big Kanji on the cloths dropping down in front of the door. Oda's home has no clear door sign, and her home looks really European.  Makihara's home might also be in that same area, but I am not sure.

After locating her home, you need to find her (with her on the background picture) doing "Arubaito" (Japanese for part-time job).  According to information from Japanese websites, she may appear in the following places:

Hill Park (The park with a Shinto shrine-like main entrance) (丘の上公園)

Game Center (ゲームセンター)

Shopping Area (In Hill Area) (ショッピング街)

Electronics District (電気街) (on the street and inside the game shop)

Theme Park (Wai Wai Land)

There may be more places she might appear, but there is not enough information about the details...  Just look for an orange haired girl.  After meeting a few times (3-5?), there is random chance that the main character suddenly decides to order take-out (any choice of your take-out food is OK).  She will appear as the delivery person for the take-out.

PS. If you have not notice yet, multiple trying to use the "Have a Walk in the Hill area" on the same day DO NOT WORK.  The same rule applies in trying to find Izumi Hotaru's homepage on piano music (with the Web Surfing command).  Therefore, the "Save and Reload" trick does not really work.  Instead, the "Save and Reload on the week before" trick may work; the outcome of "Web Surfing" and "Having a Walk in the Hill/Town area" is determined by the action just happened before, therefore, you might try to do the following:

1) Save Game

2) Try issue different commands

3) Do "Web Surfing" or "Have a Walk in ***"

4) If it works, good. If it does not, reload and go back to step 2.

4) Meeting other girls (except Shinjo, Izumi, and Watarai)

Makihara Yukiko - You always know her by default at any new game.

Aizawa Chitose - Level up in the "Language" skill sufficient amount of times using the "Language" command (leveling up with club experience do not count), or join the Broadcasting Club (and have enough club experience).

Kawa Rika - Level up in the "Science" skill sufficient amount of times using the "Science" command (leveling up with club experience do not count), or join the Science Club (and have enough club experience).

Oda Mari - Level up in the "Arts" skill sufficient amount of times using the "Arts" command (leveling up with club experience do not count), or join the Drama Club (and have enough club experience).

Tachibana Emi - Level up in the "Sports" skill sufficient amount of times using the "Sports" command (leveling up with club experience do not count), or join the Aikido Club (and have enough club experience).

5) Mini-games

The following mini-games are available in this game:

Ghost House - Basically a maze game. The goal is to find the switch that opens the game lead to the exit of the ghost house, and proceed to the exit after the gate is lifted. A time limit 60 seconds exists.  This mini-game can be found automatically during one of the double-date event in the summer.

Table Hockey - This ice-hockey based game that can be found in arcades across the Americas and Asia, and the rules and goal are the same - to out score your opponent by hitting the puck into the opposition's goal, eh (in Canadian accent)? (Just kidding)  Have a date in arcade during the 3rd school year.

Tug-of-War - Bust a Groove in TM3, but with your O, X, and "Triangle" on the joy pad. 60 seconds time limit. This game can be found during the yearly inter-class sport meet.

Throw-the-Pillow - Throw pillows at your foe in this 2 vs. 2 team match. Scoring based on final HP (if the game time is over), number of strikes, and bonus items that are scattered around the "battle field".  This game can be found during the Fall Trip during the 2nd school year.

100 Meters Dash - Same as TM2, but now with stamina. Speed up by shooting the O button.  It will cost you stamina when you speed out.  And if you "burn out", you will slow down. Remember, you always have to be shooting the O button at a certain pace to prevent disqualification.  This is an inter-class sport meet event.

2 Men-3 Legs - Same as TM2, and played exactly the same way (with the same exact rules). Press L1 and R1 at the right time, or fall flat on your face.  This is an inter-class sport meet event.

Pinball/Pachinko - This game can be found during the summer in the shrine festival during summer for the 1st and 2nd school year (for TM vets: you do not NEED a date now to go to the shrine festival). Score as much as possible within the time limit.

Bowling - Probably will not need much explanations on the rules of this game.  The rules are the same as in the bowling alleys.  Aim ball, and spin ball properly to get as much score as possible.  Warning: Your opponent (your date or one damned PS2 or whatever one decide to call it) is really good!  You will need to date a girl at the bowling alley to play this game.  The bowling alley can be found by chance when you take a walk in the town (using the "Hobbies" command).

Hopping Frog - This game can be found during the summer in the shrine festival during summer for the 1st and 2nd school year (for TM vets: you do not NEED a date now to go to the shrine festival).  You got 3 frogs.  Aim them and choose the right power to earn points.

6) Privileges and responsibilities in different clubs

There are 8 clubs you can join in TM3.  They are:

1) Student Union

2) Broadcasting Club

3) Drama Club

4) Baseball Club

5) Aikido Club

6) Tennis Club

7) Football/Soccer Club

8) Track and Field Club

If you joined a sports club (club 4 to 8), you must attend the mandatory monthly practice on the third Sunday every month.  You will be kicked out from the club if you miss 2 mandatory practices.   Trying to date girls that belongs to a sports club on the third Sunday every month will always fail.  If you do good in the sports club (i.e. winning practice matches, high club experience points), you will be able to attend inter-school championships on August of your last school year.  Winning the championship gives you a big bonus with your relationships with all of the girls in this game.  I am not sure exactly how much experience is needed is win the championships; but if you get more than 800 experience points, I think you are safe bet to win the championships.

Although you are not required to any attend the meeting in the art clubs (club 2 and 3), you will get a prize and a recognition from the school on the December of your last school year if you have enough club experience.  Winning the prize has the same effect of winning the sports championships.

Student Union is an interesting one... If you do not go to work with the Union "enough" (I do not know how much is "enough" yet, you will get thrown out of the Union.  They check attendance every 3 months (at the change of season).  You have 2 privileges for joining the Student Union:

1) You can choose where to go for Fall Trip on the October of your second school year.

2) You can go to the Christmas Party regardless what type of clothes you wear.  If you do not belongs to the Union, and wear inappropriate clothes to the party, you will be kicked out from the party...  Remember, there are lots of interesting clothes you can wear in this game, hehe (--; ).

Hint on getting lots of experience points in clubs:

Go to club meeting/practice on Saturdays, Sundays, or during Summer/Winter/Spring Vacation.  You get 6 points of experience points for those days, while you will get only ONE experience point per day during usual class days.  In other words, if you spend one week (of usual class days) to practice in the Soccer Club, you will get 5 experience points; while if you spend a Sunday for practice, you will get SIX experience points.  5 Sundays equal to 30 Usual Class Days, it is simple what day you should choose for going to club practice.

7) The Bio-rhythm Chart

On lower right corner of the weather forecast chart, there is a graph with 3 curves on it.  This is the Bio-rhythm chart.  The red line represents literature and science; the green line represents fine arts; the yellow line represents sports.  The further the curve is from the center, the more favorable is to issue the command the curve represents.  In other words, if the sports line is away from the center, the chance of success of the sports command increases.

8) Secret Date Spots

10) Bombs

A) What are "bombs"?

Girl "bomb" management is one of the most difficult part of this game.  You know there are "bombs" if:

1) Run into a girl after class and girl ignores you with a bad face;

2) Player talks to himself during night about "rumors among girls".

B) How to "un-bomb"?

The best way to prevent bombs is to reduce the number of girls you know (preventive measure), but still you are going to know at least 2 or 3 girls.  In that case, the only way to "un-bomb" is to date the girl (calling will work to some extent, but date is the best way), and the date must be successful.

C) Sadness

Bombs are caused by a secret parameter called "Sadness".  Once it reached a critical level, you will receive a bomb warning (as listed above).  Sadness level rises naturally all the time, but "extra-increase" will occur if you 1) Go home with a specific girl (other girls sadness level will all increase) 2) A girl asks for a date or to go home with you, and you say no.
